The Dr. Merck Stitch Method is wonderfully suited for children. Gentle, safe, fast, uncomplicated. With children, it is best to have this operation before they enter school, so that they will not be teased or even mobbed at school because of their ears. But the operation can be carried out at any age after this as well. Up until the end of age 11, children are operated under full anaesthesia. As of age 12, it is possible to have the operation under local anaesthesia.

Unlike as with adults, who receive no head bandage, we give small children a head bandage for one day. This is because we have observed that they often touch their ears after the operation with hands that are not always clean.


Ear correction for adults

We operate according to a new method developed by Dr Merck, the Stitch Method. Dr. Merck himself and a team of qualified doctors selected and trained by Dr. Merck carry this operation out. Dr. Merck has been practicing the Stitch Method since 1995, only made it public however in 2000 and has already received wide attention for the method from patients and the media.
